Start Date: 22/04/2020 End Date: 22/04/2020
Event Location: Zoom
In the third and final of our series of online sessions on delivering Development Education virtually, we will be looking at Designing and Delivering a virtual conference for the Development Education sector.
When: Thursday 23 April from 2.00pm – 4.00pm GMT via Zoom.
What to expect: In this interactive session we will explore key considerations for designing a virtual conference, from the architecture of the event (using virtual tools e.g. SLACK and Howspace) to delivering an interactive learning experience for a large group of attendees (e.g. using Open Space Technology). This training will provide you with a rapid action road map to move a conference to a virtual or blended setting. A key point of emphasis will be on not just moving content but creating a meaningful way to engage participants and assess the level of engagement. We will also dedicate time to consolidate learning from these 3 trainings and consider how members can collaborate and what further supports may be needed.
About the trainer: Charo Lanao-Madden is a highly experienced trainer and coach based in Northern Ireland and working with people and communities in 15 countries around the world, regularly using online tools. Charo uses theoretical models and research and delivers training, facilitation or coaching in such a way that participants are fully engaged with their own experiences and emotions. Charo balances experiential learning with reflective practice, and tailors training by listening to what is happening in real time.
Cost: This training is free of charge. It is open to IDEA members only. It will be recorded and shared after the event.
Register below by Wednesday 22 April. The Zoom link to sign-in to the webinar will be shared by 22 April with all registered participants. If you have any questions or if you can’t attend and want to receive the recording contact elaine@ideaonline.ie.
