IDEA’s members make up a vibrant network of Development Education practitioners, including Development NGOs, community and voluntary organisations, educational institutions and networks, trade unions, educators, researchers and activists. 


Joining IDEA gives you the opportunity to work with and learn from this diverse group, keeping you up-to-date with what is happening in the sector in Ireland and beyond. It gives you the opportunity to contribute to shaping and influencing the national and international policy environment and amplifying the voice of the sector. Membership of IDEA is open to anyone who is committed to providing, promoting or advancing Development Education throughout the island of Ireland and who shares IDEA's vision and mission. 

Types of Membership 

  1. Organisational Membership is open to any  organisation working on Development Education/ Global Citizenship Education in Ireland

  2. Individual Membership is open to any individual that      is working in Development Education/Global Citizenship Education in Ireland

  3. Associate Membership is open to organisations         that are not working directly in Development Education/Global Citizenship Education but are working in related areas.
