Free training for women Councillors in Ireland
Due to the popularity of our last training, IDEA provide the training on Political Leadership for Sustainable Development for women Councillors again in partnerships with Women for Election , Saturday 23 November, 9.30am-4.00pm.
Testimonials from the last training:
“Overall excellent, not a wasted minute. The training is the right amout of ‘theory’ and practice.”
“I learned far more than expected. Mixing with other Local Authority elected members was of great benefit. Excellent, worthwhile training.”
“I learned so much about the 17 goals and how I might implement them locally.”
The job of Councillors is getting more complex each year. With rising concerns about the impact of climate change, tackling inequality and making sure constituents have access to housing, health and education services, there’s a lot to balance. The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals can help by providing a framework for Councillors to support decision making based on 17 Sustainable Development Goals that aim to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
This free one-day training will take women Councillors through the Sustainable Development Goals and show them how to use the Goals to evaluate problems and implement solutions for more sustainable development planning in their constituency.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
