Join us for IDEA’s Annual Conference 'United in Impact: celebrating our journey', charting our future' as well as our celebrations of the 20 years of IDEA’s establishment on Wednesday, 4th September in Richmond Barracks, Inchicore, Dublin 8.

Much of the world seems to be at a crossroads, within global politics, local communities and the arena of Global Citizenship Education. As we are faced with key challenges related to human rights, equitable development, climate breakdown and inequality, global and local justice is interconnected now more than ever.   
Recently, in Ireland, despite a rise in far-right discourse, only a small number of candidates holding such views were elected. Their much-anticipated breakthrough did not materialise.

2024 marks 20 years since IDEA’s establishment as a network for DE in Ireland. In these uncertain times our members' work is more important than ever. Global Citizenship Education is an essential tool as society strives to understand and constructively respond to local and global justice issues. Despite challenges there are significant successes, optimism for the future and signs that the values of Global Citizenship Education are strong and resilient in Ireland.
We invite you this one day event with speakers, workshops and opportunities to network. We will celebrate our shared history, acknowledge our present context, and envision the future for GCE we wish to create together. Let’s craft our future - united in purpose, impact and action.
