Read Policy and Practice 19 Online Now!

November 5, 2014

Issue 19 of the Centre for Global Education 's bi-annual, peer reviewed journal, Policy & Practice: A Development Education Review , has been published and is now available online.  The theme of this issue is ‘Finding the “Historically Possible”: Contexts, Limits and Possibilities in Development Education’ which suggests that the differentiation and diversity of development education in terms of education settings, providers and target groups can serve to limit or expand its possibilities.

This issue considers the limits and possibilities of DE in a range of contexts including critical literacy, corporate power and compassionate global citizenship.  It reflects on recent development education initiatives that have sought to expand the sector’s possibilities in the tertiary and business sectors, and in the promotion of and access to DE resources. It also offers a compelling case study of community activism in the face of corporate and state power in Cajamarca, Peru which reminds us of the social and economic injustices which make development education necessary.  We hope you enjoy this issue and find that it offers some inspiration to your practice and activism wherever you are located.

Please feel free to leave comments on Policy and Practice articles on the journal’s facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/policyandpractice
