As part of IDEA’s support on organisational management, we are running a workshop on ‘Financial Tools for Development Education Projects’ on Tuesday 28 March from 1.00 – 4.30pm in the IDEA office, 6 Gardiner Row, Dublin 1.

This workshop is targeted at Development Education practitioners (non-financial staff) who are seeking to upskill in the area of basic financial management of their projects. It will be facilitated by Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of Temple Street Foundation, a specialist in non-profit management and a lecturer in Finance in the Masters of Management for the Community and Voluntary Sector (All Hallows College/DCU).

The workshop is timed to take place in advance of Development Education grant applications for WorldWise Global Schools (April), Trócaire (June) and Irish Aid annual grants (Autumn). Denise will provide participants with a selection of tools for project budgeting and financial management (such as sample budgets, cash flow tools etc.) and the last hour of the workshop will be allocated to WorldWise Global Schools and Irish Aid (and possibly others) to share information about the financial aspects of their Development Education grants.

Workshop costs:

• IDEA Members: €20

• Non-members: €40

A light lunch will be served from 1:00pm before the workshop starts at 1.30pm. To register for this event please contact elaine@ideaonline.ie.
