IDEA Code of Good Practice

March 6, 2018

As part of our work in strengthening good practice in Development Education, IDEA is leading the development of a Code of Good Practice in Development Education with our members in 2017. This builds on the work already carried out by IDEA working groups and partners in the production of Good Practice Guidelines for key areas of DE activity.

This draft Code of Good Practice in Development Education is now entering a piloting phase in 2018 and we are now inviting members to be part of a piloting group, April – November 2018. The pilot group will ideally be made up of 8 – 10 members, representing different sub-sectors of IDEA membership (formal education, youth work, adult and community education) as well as both individual practitioners and organisational members. More information on the process is available on our website  and will involve attending three workshops with the pilot group as well as various tasks between meetings. IDEA staff and an external consultant will support piloting members in this process.

The first meeting takes place in the IDEA office on Wednesday 11 April from 9.30am – 1.00pm, followed by a light lunch . This pilot group is open to ALL current members of IDEA.

To sign up to this process and/or for more information please contact elaine@ideaonline.ie
